The Kootenai Nordic Club collects an annual membership fee which covers the costs of insurance, general club expenses and grooming equipment maintenance. Suggested contribution:
Construction of a multi-purpose facility to improve our skier, family and visitor experiences is finally complete!
Planning has begun for a trailhead at Flower Creek Trails to serve as the major public access for a multi direction trail system - 1) northerly to the Norgard Trail and Flower Creek Mountain Bike Course 2) the adjacent Flower Creek nordic area and 3) continuing from the Flower Creek Trails to the Historic Snowshoe Trail.
The Kootenai National Forest granted a Public Easement to the City of Libby on Flower Creek Road providing permanent legal access to City owned property in the Flower Creek area. This allows improved safe road access on Flower Creek Road and the ski area The gate at the road entrance will be positioned above the Libby Creek Dam to allow year-round access of Flower Creek Trails.
Kootenai Nordic Club will host youth classic and freestyle biathlon races annually at the South Flower Ski trails. These races are for youth of all ages and abilities offering the opportunity for low key competition and an introduction to biathlon. There will be food, prizes and fun!
